An affirmation is really any ‘affirming statement’ that you say (out loud) or think (in your mind) about yourself … repeatedly.
Affirmations can be either positive or negative.
Negative affirmations like “I am such an idiot” or “nothing ever turns out right for me”, comments we tell ourselves over and over again can show in our lives as unwanted experiences.
Positive affirmations give us the opportunity to re-train our thinking and speaking into positive patterns so that we can change our lives for the better.
Positive Affirmations are positive statements describing a desired condition in your life. That condition may not yet exist, but the affirmation is spoken as though it does.
A simple example might be: “I am at peace with my life.” This is repeated several times on a daily basis, out loud or mentally, the aim being to re-program the subconscious mind into producing the desired outcome.
Affirmations must be sincerely felt and spoken in the present tense with conviction and enthusiasm. When properly understood and applied they have the potential to totally transform your life.
We carry out such mental programming every day whether we know it or not; the trick is to make this programming conscious and positive.
Both negative and positive affirmations create your reality. So it is wise to consciously create positive affirmations for yourself.
Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.
